Ma Jianfei Visits Amman TAG-Confucius Institute of Jordan

On Apr. 21st local time, Ma Jianfei, Deputy Chief Executive of Confucius Institute Headquarters and Deputy Director-General of Hanban, visited and inspected Amman TAG-Confucius Institute of Jordan together with his supervisory team.

The team exchanged in-depth views with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of TAG-Org, Lin Qun, President of Shenyang Normal University (the cooperative college of Amman TAG-Confucius Institute), and Luay Abu- Ghazaleh, executive director of TAG-Confucius Institute. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh reckoned that TAG-Org and China had a close cooperation and the Chinese Visa Application Service Center of Amman is based in TAG-Org. He was proud to have the support from the Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban to co-establish Amman TAG-Confucius Institute with Chinese Shenyang Normal University.

The team visited the office, library, Chinese Culture Experience Center, conference room and classroom in the new office area of Amman TAG-Confucius Institute, and showed up at the students’ Chinese calligraphy and painting exhibition. Afterwards, the team listened to the work reports delivered by Ma Mouen, Jordanian Director of Amman TAG-Confucius Institute, and his Chinese counterpart Yang Songfang on the Chinese language teaching, cultural events, and future development of the institute. The team had a friendly conversation with the faculty and students on the works and lives of Chinese volunteer teachers and students learning there.

Ma Jianfei showed his appreciation of the successful management of TAG-Confucius Institute and TAG-Org’s outstanding contribution to the institute. He hoped that the institute would make full use of its advantages in the context of the “Belt and Road” initiative as well as extend its positive development in promoting Chinese culture and cooperating with local Chinese-funded enterprises in regard to social service.

The team also visited the Chinese Visa Application Service Center located in TAG-Org and Ma Jianfei sang high praise for the achievements made by Talal Abu-Gazaleh in the friendly exchanges between China and Jordan. He hoped TAG-Org, which should take the Confucius Institute as platform, could continue to make contributions to the future exchanges and cooperation between the two countries
