Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan Presents Urdu Version of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China to Confucius Institute in Islamabad

On Apr. 14th, the release ceremony of the Urdu version of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China was jointly held by the State Council Information Office of China, the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan at the Prime Minister¡¯s office in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital. Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan together with Jiang Jianguo, Head of the State Council Information Office of China, unveiled the new book. The ceremony attracted over 300 people from political, cultural and press circles in both China and Pakistan.

At the release ceremony, Jiang Jianguo presented the Urdu version of the book Xi Jinping: The Governance of China to Nawaz Sharif. Then, Nawaz Sharif and Jiang Jianguo jointly presented the book to the Pakistan-China Institute, the Pakistan Institute for Strategic Studies, the National Library of Pakistan and the Confucius Institute in Islamabad. As the only Chinese representative, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute in Islamabad Zhang Daojian accepted this precious gift.

After the ceremony, Zhang Daojian told People¡¯s Daily that President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the roles culture and education played in international communication and collaboration, which are emphasized in the book Xi Jinping: The Governance of China repeatedly while discussing multilateral relations and cooperation with neighboring countries. The Urdu version of the book is published exactly at the right time, because it will greatly help the Pakistani know the important roles culture and education as well as people-to-people and cultural exchange played in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and in the construction of ¡°the Belt and Road¡±. The book will definitely promote the work of the Confucius Institute in the future.
