Confucius Institute at the University of New South Wales Organizes Teaching Exchanges for Volunteers
From Oct. to Nov. local time, the Confucius Institute at the University of New South Wales in Australia organized teaching exchange visits for two Chinese language teachers and eight volunteers. Observing each other’s Chinese classes, the volunteers can learn from the abundant teaching experience of local Chinese language teachers. They also shared their own experience in Chinese language teaching through seminars.

This event aimed at increasing learning opportunities for volunteers to improve their teaching and working abilities as well as promoting the communication and cooperation between all classrooms as well as teaching centers and the Confucius Institute. After the event, everybody had experienced the colorful school activities of private schools, vivid Chinese language teaching guided by the diversified western teaching philosophies as well as the important contributions made by community Chinese schools to spreading the Chinese language and culture.

At present, the 7 Confucius Classrooms and teaching centers of the Confucius Institute at the University of New South Wales are respectively located at 4 private schools and 3 community Chinese schools. A volunteer is assigned to each Confucius Classroom and teaching center. These Confucius Classrooms and teaching centers are located at different communities of Sydney, and the Chinese language teaching situations in these schools are quite different from each other.
