On June 17th, local time, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Serbia, starting his three-day state visit to the Republic of Serbia. On the evening of the second day of his visit, Serbian President Tomislav Nikoli? held a grand welcome banquet for President Xi at the Presidential Palace.

The Confucius Institute in Belgrade and famous local art groups were invited to perform at the evening banquet. On behalf of the faculty and students of the Confucius Institute, its Chinese language teacher Ms. Aleksandra Virovkic conveyed sincere greetings to President Xi and his wife Madam Peng and other distinguished guests and performed the songThe Light Dance . Then, secondary school students from Chinese teaching sites of the Confucius Institute staged an exceptionally beautiful umbrella dance for the guests. The spectacular singing and dancing fully demonstrated Serbian youths¡¯ achievements in Chinese learning and showcased their passion for Chinese learning as well as good wishes for the everlasting friendship between China and Serbia. A total of 80 distinguished guests from the two countries watched the performances, including President Nikoli? and his wife Dragica Nikolic as well as President Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan.
